What are the wind conditions like in Ixia Rhodes?
Ixia features a reliable side-shore wind from April to October. In the mornings, the wind starts lighter making it perfect for wingfoil lessons and entry level windsurfing. By the afternoon, the wind ramps up, creating nice bump and jump conditions for intermediate and pro riders.

Does somebody help me with the equipment set up?
At Surfers Paradise we work with a valet rigging and set up service. In that way, we can together make sure that everything is perfectly set up with your wing foil and windsurfing equipment.
Do I need to bring a harness and wetsuit?
We have harnesses, wetsuits, impact vests and helmets available free of use at the center although we advise to bring your own as it is always better to use something you are used to! Wetsuits (shorty) is only needed in the beginning and end of the season (April-May, September-October) as the water temperature is around 26 degrees during the summer months.
Where can I buy windsurf and wingfoil equipment and accessories?
Surfers Paradise operates a surf shop where you can find Harnesses, Gloves, Shoes, Lycras, Wet suits and all other essential things you might need on the water. The center also sells boards, sails, wings, foils and spare parts.
How can I pay?
Our online booking system accepts all type of credit/debit cards as well as Apple and Google pay.
At the center we accept cash (euros) and all types of credit/debit cards.
Is there WiFi at the center?
Free WiFi is available for all our guests and friends as well as power outlets in case you need to work from abroad!
What time does the center open and close?
We open 09:30 and stay open until sunset at approx. 19.00. In that way everyone gets up to 9 hours of sailing time and that is something you will rarely find at other centers which usually close at 18:00 everyday.
Do I need to reserve a certain board and rig?
We have a large variety of boards and sails available for rent. That allows us to work with an open pool system, meaning every costumer can change boards and sails whenever they like or when the wind conditions change. However, If you have a favorite board there is the possibility to reserve it upon request!
Do I need to pre book?
Making a reservation by pre-booking ensures there is available equipment or lessons times on your arrival and during your stay. If you have not made a reservation we can not guarantee availability.
Is Rhodes good for wingfoiling?
Yes, Rhodes is one of the best places in Greece for wingfoiling.
During the summer season (April-October), Rhodes Benefits from reliable thermal winds that build gradually throughout the day. In Ixia where Surfers Paradise is situated, the wind typically starts lighter in the morning (perfect for beginners) and strengthens in the afternoon for more advanced riders. The long coastline and open bay make it an ideal training environment.
Can beginners learn wingfoiling in Rhodes?
Absolutely. Ixia, Rhodes is a great spot to learn wingfoiling.
At Surfers Paradise, we start beginners on large, stable boards to make the learning process safe and progressive. The gradual wind build-up in Ixia allows first-timers to learn in lighter conditions before progressing to stronger winds later in the day.
Most beginners can stand and control the wing within their first lesson.

When is the best time of the year to wingfoil or windsurf in Rhodes?
The season for wingfoiling and windsurfing in Rhodes runs from April to October. June, July, August and September offer the most consistent and strongest thermal winds. April, May and October offer good sessions in steady wind (usually not as strong as summer months) with slightly fewer crowds.
Do you adjust lessons based on skill level?
Yes, the professional wingfoil and windsurf instructors at Surfers Paradise will adjust the lessons based on your skill level whether it’s learning the basics and gybing to trying to learn advanced freestyle or racing.

How many lessons does a beginner usually need?
At Surfers Paradise we offer windsurf and wingfoil taster courses which are meant to give you a quick taste of the sports. To be able to ride independently we recommend our 4.5 or 6 hour courses.
